Arshamomaque Pond Preserve
The Town of Southold purchased this parcel as part of the Arshamomaque Preservation Plan. This property is part of the Long Island Pine Barrens Maritime Reserve and is listed for protection because of its exceptional scenic, biological and recreational resources. This unique natural complex ranks as one of the most valuable and productive coastal and marine ecosystems remaining in the nation. It centers on the Peconic Bays, a federally designated National Estuary.

Dam Pond Maritime Reserve
This is a 36 acre preserve owned by the Town of Southold and Suffolk County Parks. It features a protected bay, scrubland, grasslands and tidal flats. Saltwater marshes and woodlands also dot the area. The walking trail is 1.2 miles long.

Downs Farm Preserve
The site of a former Native American Fort which stood in the 1600s, this preserve is listed on the National Park Register of Historic Places. Remnants of the fort can be seen at the 51-acre wooded parcel in Cutchogue. The preserve features miles of hiking trails along the tidal wetlands of Downs Creek.
