Greenport Shellabration is a restaurant walk which features the best in local shellfish, wine, and beer. For two days in early December wristbands grant participants access to enjoy the very best culinary creations of Greenport’s leading chefs. Visit website: shellabration.li
On the first Friday of each month from June to December, Greenport art galleries remain open late, allowing visitors to leisurely stroll through the village and enjoy the beautiful artwork in our local galleries. Participating shops also remain open late with some offering Gallery Walk promotions.
The annual Greenport Maritime Festival begins on Friday night with a Land and Sea Gala cocktail party. Saturday morning’s parade through downtown Greenport kicks off the festival, followed by grand displays of classic wooden boats, kayak races, demonstrations of high tech water sports, wood carving and model ship building, music, delicious food, high end artisanal vendors, children’s activities, fresh oysters, craft beers and local wines. The evening brings music and dancing in Mitchell Park and screenings of original movies. Sunday morning there is a children’s breakfast shared with mermaids and pirates, more family friendly activities throughout the village, and old fashioned games in Mitchell Park. Each May the residents of our historic village celebrate the blossoming of our beautiful trees, including Kwanzan Cherry and Aristocrat Pear. The flowers are glorious for their all-too-short week. Then we are awash in pink and white blossom snow.
